World of Mostly Moving Birds

Here's more from the Minnesota Zoo's World of Birds.

A trumpeter hornbill displayed its food-catching ability. I wondered why it has this ability, given that it's a fruit-eater. It's not as though it catches flying insects for a living. Then I remembered that the other hornbills I've seen give bits of fruit a toss to move them from the tips of their beaks to their mouths.

 The red-legged seriema can jump...

but it's noted for its way of subduing frogs and snakes:

A pied crow knows how to take folding money from zoo guests

 ... and return it.
