Kora, a red panda that escaped from her enclosure at the Columbus Zoo last year, and her cubs napped in a tree February 22.
One of the kids stirred ... |
and managed to get below mom. |
They climbed down to the next crotch ... |
and down to a walkway. |
It was time for bamboo treats.

Great photos. What cool subjects.
ReplyDeleteThey are some of my favorites. I walk by whenever I get the chance. I was there when Kora ended her out of habitat adventure. A guest spotted her in the outdoor Rhino area (Rosy was inside for safe keeping). I was walking out of the Asia Quest building when all of the vets came running. My group (guest engagement) did crowd control while the vets worked on coaxing her out of a tree by the pachyderm building. They finally tranquilized her and caught her in a net. Branches in the Red Panda habitat have been trimmed to prevent a future escape.
