Sexual Dimorphism

Some bird species are sexually dimorphic, where males and females look different. Male and female blue jays look the same and are not sexually dimorphic. Male northern cardinals are more brightly colored than females and are.

  1. In all of these pictures, the male is more colorful than the female. I wonder if that’s always the case. (I should’ve paid more attention in my college Flora and Fauna” course!)
