2023 Part 5: Different

Sometimes I'm not so animal-focused.

Okay, there's an animal here, but the interesting thing is sloth transport. (In my backlog, I have photos of Sid leaving his basket and going where he wants to go. Here, the Columbus Zoo keeper returns him to its basket. See post.)

Equipment envy

My camera shoots 8 frames per second at its fastest, and I got lucky with the puck in the net but still in the air.

Toledo's North American river otters do backflips, and the kids love it!

Pumpkin chomp for the Toledo Zoo's hippo heads.

Autofocus found the crud on the polar bears' glass in Toledo. I decided to call it art.

Toledo May 27

The missing gardener and I went to the Toledo Zoo for early member hours mainly to see the polar bear twins, Kallu and Kallik. Unfortunately, he observation building was closed, so we couldn't see them under water. They were active and romping.

Those are Crystal's (mom's) legs.

This giraffe is missing some teeth, so his tongue tends to dangle.

Watusi cattle traffic jam. They were on their way from the near area to the main yard when they just stopped. (Facebook video, 2021)

Snow leopard. I assume this is Greta because this is her usual enclosure with the chilled rock. Her mate, Shishir, is usually next door. They've produced a number of cubs. (First cubs)

The North American river otters continue to entertain the primates with back flips off the glass.

Flips and spins

Guillotine the wolverine (she came from France), of the Columbus Zoo, used to turn somersaults.

Guillotine goes tail over head.

She has since switched to spins.

A sea otter at the Minnesota Zoo turned somersaults while grooming.

The North American river otters at the Toledo Zoo apparently like to entertain the people. I've seen these back flips during multiple visits. (Video has sound.)
